Cheshire Constabulary, FOI and false rapes.

A unique double posting in a day. It has been that momentous here in cyberspace what with trying to get a stand by ticket for a flight to England. Now, onto business. Those nice folks at Cheshire Constabulary responded to my Freedom Of Information request. "How many rapes were recorded in 2011? What were the outcomes?" 245 recorded rapes and interestingly, 19 "no crimes" as one is rapidly learning to call them.
1 had a four month suspended sentence. (For lying about rape).
1 sent to CPS, no outcome recorded. (She was let off, ahhhh).
1 reprimanded. (Yes a telling off versus a life sentence).
1 Fixed penalty notice, wasting police time.
1 considered for fixed penalty notice.
14 no further action (they got away with making a false rape claims).
If the above figures show anything it is that the U.K policing of those making malicious allegations is not only farcical but evil. Morally one no longer needs to obey "the law", nor should one until such time as anonymity is granted to the accused and there actually is a proportionate punishment for lying about what is rightly the second most grievous crime on the statute books.

Derbyshire Constabulary, Malvinas and Russia.

A very nice letter from Paul at Derbyshire plod Freedom of Information Act Central who was asked "How many rapes were recorded in 2011?" It was 314. Of these 34 (over 10%) were "no action". Given the serious nature of rape one could diplomatically add that no action is Derby's polite way of saying "She lied". Of course, that is not a crime. Anonymity is guaranteed (check out Britain's foremost political prisoner, Julian Assange). So Anna Ardin and Sofia Wilen "get away with it"? Ms Ardin worked for the CIA. How queer.
Next question Paul replied to was "How many requests were there to delete DNA?" 28 (Twenty eight). Of these 17 (seventeen) were classed as exceptional and deleted, or at least that is what we were told, there is no independent method of verification. Given police mendacity why is that?
To other news. William Schleswig-Holstein-von Glucksberg-von Sonderberg (try fitting that on a flight helmet) has arrived in the Malvinas. The difference between 1982 and thirty years on is that the U.K cannot possibly defend the islands from an attack so I am hoping Argentina gets stuck in.
On my list of other places to visit apart from Buenos Aires is Russia. It comes second only to Iran in the hate stakes for Whitehall. As I saw last year Tehran is a crap hole and run by idiots. So I am backing Pooty Poot Poot.

100th post and 2 years.

It is not often that "After Watt" blows it's own trumpet but today is a special occasion. It marks no only the hundredth post but exactly two years since the blogge was launched. In those two years it has gone from being a small thorn in the far right and police's side (these two are cointerminous in Britain) and is now 93rd most popular non aligned political blog in the U.K. No mean feat for a man with a laptop.
Early posts show a European reach. Unlike Ron Broxted there is little on Africa, America, Asia or contemporary Macedonian theatre.
Today saw the publication of a raft of statistics on law. It is odd that nearly four years on S & Marper is still not implemented yet anti "terrorist" legislation is enacted within hours. Proof again of the UK being a de facto police state (I am writing this from abroad).
To conclude, I will continue to risk jail by being in contempt of court (flouting bans on superinjunctions is one way) by speaking the truth fearlessly and retaining my anonymity.
This blog is not anti-American nor anti-Israel, it acknowledges the right of a free Palestine, it denounces Iran and other nations breaches of human rights.

The Cardiff Three and South Wales Police.

On 2 Dec 2011 I wrote about the miscarriage of justice surrounding the Cardiff Three. Ghafoor's conviction was often trumpeted as one which was a victory for the National DNA database extension. That aside, one wonders if the eight "officers" of South Wales Police will be tried again. It seems remote and the whole sorry debacle proves the point that Britain is a de facto police state.
Fact. The "missing" evidence that would have convicted the scum in blue has now been "found". Fact. Double jeopardy rules are not likely to apply to the brave detectives of South Wales Police who tortured confessions from innocent men.
I officially complained to Channel 4 about Mr Snow's interview. Disappointed that he was off his usual good form tonight and outraged that he became an apologist for the police.
I wonder when Britain lost its sense of smell.

Voices as disparate as Sadiq Khan and David Cameron call for an overhaul of Strasbourg. 14bis was introduced to deal with the massive backlog, mostly from Poland and other Eastern European nations such as Albania and Bosnia who have no track record of human rights safeguarding.
Almost four years have passed since the case of S & Marper versus United Kingdom yet neither ZaNuLabour nor the coalition have implemented the ruling. We have a bona fide Germany 1933 moment. In my discussions with Jews and anti-fascists who had stayed I asked "When the Nazi party kept on bringing in more repressive laws why didn't you leave?" It seems the answer is akin to the lobster in boiling water phenomenon. Raise the temperature gradually and the lobster dies.
In Britain now, post Blair-Brown and the 3500+ "laws" that eroded civil liberties, we thought that the "Protection of freedom bill" would be a bulwark against encroaching police powers. The bill was diluted and now we have the unedifying spectacle of trial by jury being curtailed. Both Straw and Blunkett tried to do this.
It must be odd for someone in say, Illinois, to comprehend. What would happen if some asshole tried to suspend the US constitution to "save a few bucks"? Yet in the U.K it is quite feasible to suspend the long enshrined right to be tried in court as it "costs too much". Indeed, it is due to juries no longer convicting on the mendacious word of the police.

Thing is truth and the erstwhile Detective Derek Haslam are strangers. Linked to the BNP and EDL, Haslam took early retirement and went to wildest Norfolk, Downham Market. His literary output consisted of an angry letter about the Scots Parliament, a comment to Michael Winner and his attempt at blogging as "Alamo" then "Sigourd" on the Daily Torygraph site "My Telegraph". In Dec 2007 Haslam's wife Susan, who married him in Sutton, May 1970, left him. Derek was "confused" over his sexuality and took up stalking and trolling. Being ex Met meant that plod did not bother too much over his homophobic and race hate material.
Det Insp Richard Powell recalled Haslam, who lied about his origins (His Father Peter Haslam was a Derbyshire miner and did not attend Harrow).
Undoubtedly there is a story to be found in the cess pit of the South East London demi-monde, one that links the Brinks Mat robbery, Holmes suicide, Morgan's murder and the integrity of England's largest police force. Keep digging.

Kings Lynn and DNA legislation.

Strathclyde police took 19,197 DNA samples in 2009 of which over a third (6856) were from innocent people. According to Scots law all of these samples, 36% of the total, were deleted. All well and good but where is the proof? One only has the word of the police on this and given their track record of mendacity what level of credibility can one invest?
Worse still, Cumbria police where in 2009 4668 samples were taken and of these 1319 came from the innocent. A mere 12 (0.91%) were deleted (or so we are informed).
Only 2 constabularies bothered to reply to F.O.I requests in 2009. The mechanism of deleting innocent DNA samples must be independent of the police and totally transparent.
Still, one doubts that will happen, after all we don't live in a democracy.

Jimmy Savile and Haut de la Garenne.

BBC star of many decades, Savile had an eye for young (underage) girls. Boys too if news breaking is to be credited. Whilst one never places much trust in the "Daily Mail" (beloved of cops everywhere) they may have struck a nerve. In 1979 I was privy to a conversation in which Savile was alleged to have had a fondness for juvenile flesh along with a noted TV sports presenter and a Chief Constable.
As you can see I have linked neatly the themes of Jimmy the bacon with the perennial favourite topic of police corruption (in all senses of the word). Haut de la Garenne was in the bailiwick of the police who covered up what happened with alacrity. As my sole police reader with an IQ in double figures (Hi, E!) pointed out "We both want similar things" (i.e a demise of bad policing). Now, my preferred method may be semtex but here, in essence is an idea on modern policing in the U.K.
Try catching criminals, real ones not placard waving hippies. Try not to fit up the innocent, it pisses them off and adds to your numerous enemies. Finally, admit that Britain is a de facto police state, that Bramshill/ACPOs time is running out and that the judgement will be fearful to behold.

Suffolk Constabulary, DNA and false rape claims.

Good morning. This e-mail just arrived from Samantha at Suffolk police H.Q.
"Dear Mr Haslam (!), Regarding your enquiry under the Freedom of information act. You asked - How many innocent people have requested to have their DNA deleted? How many requests were granted?
Requests. 14. Granted None.
In keeping with the national stance the Constabulary are currently awaiting directions from Parliament to determine the conditions of a new scheme for the retention of DNA".
Thus, years after Marper we are still in the position of innocent DNA samples being kept. Moreover, the deletion process cannot be verified independently.
The second request was in connection to harassment and false rape claims.
"Racial/religious aggravated harassment, 25"
I must admit to not knowing there was a separate charge for that. Next, more importantly we have Rapes recorded 275. Of these 21 were proven to be malicious allegations. Some allegations were retracted within the Suffolk 24 hour deadline so the figure is higher, in fact above 10%.
So finally guys, one wonders what punishment the 10% minimum of women who make these claims face? It ought to be a minimum ten years in custody, n'est pas?

As 2011 is drawing to a close a blog posting nearer to home. The Rossport debacle continues and Shell use the gardai or Irish police as a private security firm. Many will recall the infamous "rape threats" to two Irish women in March who had the temerity to film P.C O'Plod beating up peaceful protester.
Star of that scene was Sgt James Gill, whose brother has the scaffolding contract for Shell. Nice. Thorn in the establishment side is Mr Pat O'Donnell, who, in any other nation would be a hero, carried aloft into the Dail (parliament). But Ireland is a corrupt third world version of India or The Philippines, without the sunshine.
Judge Mary Henegahan decided that she believed Gill over O'Donnell in a libel case. This shows not only her own venal nature, like Mary Fahy in Galway but the political nature of the verdict (a £33,000 fine). Following the "Dundee Two" case a bright future awaits Heneghan if the dozy bitch wishes to emigrate. Oh wait, it is only the poor in Ireland who do that.

Jail for police is often a life sentence. The 41 year old Dearling has shown himself to be beyond decent society as did the judges in his case. One wonders why and names in high places have been mentioned, some folks are being protected. Also on the cards is a look at the death (murder) of Mr O'Leary in Kent. What does the Chief Constable have to hide?

The national DNA database hold millions of innocent folks details. These details are currently removed "in exceptional circumstances only" as ACPO (who basically run the U.K) have ordered.
There must be an annual check on the number of deletions to prove that it tallies with what the increasingly mendacious police are saying. Under the Freedom Of Informational Act this should be easy enough.
The Information Commissioner is hugely powerful in this field. The appointment of the new Biometric Commissioner (another Quango placeman?) is eagerly awaited.
Finally, subject access. Recently I was informed that there was "nothing being held on me", no record on the PNC save for my political offence, a statement that stretched credulity to breaking point. The most important item on any human rights agenda is the date for dealing with the "backlog" of deleting innocent DNA samples on the database.

South Wales Police and miscarriages of justice.

Two laws then, one for the South Wales Police and one for everyone else. The DPP are trying to pass the buck on this, yet when police are the aggrieved party all seems to go well. Det Insp Richard Holland got away with coersing (torturing) a confession in the Stefan Kiszko case and now Chief Insp Thomas Page, Graham Mouncer and Richard Powell have evaded justice in the Cardiff Three case. This does not augur well for the U.K when "law and order" are at the top of all political parties agendas.
It looks good in Luton Crown Court with R v Tracey Jane Murphy who now looks like a liar (well, employed by the Met need one say more?) Mr Doherty did not harass her and now the Met are looking (even) more foolish if that were possible.
Finally, Ken Livingstone wants me to vote for him. Fine. As soon as we clear up where embezzler Lee Japser hid £510,000.

Smiley Culture and Dirty Babylon (revisited).

In March I wrote about the opening of the "I" PCC enquiry into the fatal stabbing (now we must call it suicide) of Smiley Culture, a.k.a David Emmanuel. Given that the "Justice for Smiley" campaign became a mere roadshow for wannabe politico Lee Jasper it was doomed to failure. Any dissenting voice was banned and, surprisingly, Mr Jasper (B.A Manchester Poly) is friends with Mike Franklin of the "I" PCC.
The verdict today raises many issues not which of least is the independence of any Policing Ombudsman group in the U.K. Having ex cops and pals of ex cops investigate plod is a recipe for disaster.
We are asked to believe that Smiley went into his kitchen (whilst under arrest) and after engaging in dialogue more akin to what some white racist police think a West Indian sounds like then plunged a knife into his chest. Plausibility of the police is now at zero, as is trust in the police. Their record of mendacity also makes areas such as the deletion of innocent folks DNA an cause for concern.

Pete Danby, West Mercia and death threats.

Looking at some items posted on the internet I came across the case of Mr Danby. The latest ploy by the police seems to hinge on making a slur on a complainants mental health. Mr Danby wished to sue the West Mercia police for wrongful arrest. I know of a case in Hertfordshire in 2004 where this came to nought, after all, plod do cover themselves well when trying to "fit up" innocent people.
Isn't it curious how so many items related to prosecuting the police "go missing"? Mr A is photographed at a police station in Sussex half blinded and with a police boot imprint clearly on his face (after being handcuffed with his arms behind him. How brave, Sgt Edney and PCs Baker and Savage). Mr D has no solicitor present during interrogation (isn't that illegal, constable?) and the tape record as in many other cases goes missing.
More sinister still are the remarks of some of West Mercia's "finest" that it would be better for Mr D if he "died before getting to the cells". Isn't that illegal, constable?

Yet another acronym from hell. These bozos are supposedly safeguarding the National DNA Database yet ages ago when I sent a polite request I was ignored. Within a day or two the House of Lords will have passed the final amendments to a much diluted "Protection of freedoms bill". One salient point is that the deletion of innocent folks DNA samples will (after years of delay in the S & Marper case) supposedly be put in place.
Public trust in the police (in many communities) is at zero, therefore any deletion must be totally independent and transparent. Can anyone see plod doing this?

Nottinghamshire police have just threatened me with jail for contempt of court following my tweet regarding the activities of rapist police detective Trevor Gray. One wonders if the Nottingham police will back my putative attempt that all men accused of rape are granted anonymity? Gray will be in court on 23rd November. Also in the news was the sentencing of Jamie Counsel (25) at Cardiff Crown Court for 4 years for putting "Let's have a riot" on Facebook - such tariffs merely show the fear that is gripping the judiciary.
It is not that the people are in contempt of court but that the courts are held in contempt by the people.

On the "Independent" there was a story that coyly alluded to a "woman of British background who cannot be identified for legal reasons". Danie Odendaal was recruited by Sarah Penfold under the aegis of Hart Security in London. Penfold worked out of Kenya, and went to Johannesburg on 17th August. The idea was to extract the Libyan dictator and set him up in a tent in the Karoo. Unsurprisingly the South African State Security folks were less than enthusiastic. Having perused the log ins for my blogge many of you seem to think Sir Fred Goodwin was indulging in a gay fling. I cannot comment on that - perhaps he was, perhaps not. The superinjunction that surrounded him, and indeed all wealthy men that have had affairs has been partially lifted. However I feel sure many of you want to know the identity of his colleague at the Royal Bank of Scotland. The name Susan Bor figures largely.

Michael Sweeney.

Michael Sweeney entered the “Approach Tavern” in Hackney, E2, near his home in Bethnal Green after his days’ work as a labourer for a scaffolder ended on 18th April 2011. The diligent 38 year old had learned the week before that he was going to be a father. A West Ham supporter he had served half of an eight year jail sentence, being released in 1998. Arrested at the age of 22 he was found guilty of importing cannabis. It was his sole brush with the law. The media erroneously reported that he had been jailed twice for serious offences. At 7.40 pm ten police entered the pub after a “member of the public” had called saying Sweeney was armed with a knife. No weapon has come to light.

In my interview with his fiancee there was some doubt as to whether Sweeney’s last words were “I am being electrocuted”. Was he subjected to being tasered? There is additional concern over the location of the the CCTV footage from the pub which as with that of the Tomlinson death is “missing”. Sweeney was 5 feet 8 inches and approximately 13 stone, why did it require almost a dozen police to arrest him?

Sweeney was taken to the Royal London hospital in Whitechapel, and pronounced dead at 10.07pm. The crucial period is just over two hours. The London Chest hospital is virtually opposite the pub, and the Homerton is close by. The Metropolitan police have refused to answer any questions from the family, friends or campaigners for Michael Sweeney. His death follows those of “Smiley Culture”(former reggae star David Emmanuel), Kingsley Burrell Brown, Colin Ranford, Anthony Davies and Kirk Williams within a week. Sarah Green of the IPCC is dealing with the case but has not answered my calls.

The inquest at Poplar has been adjourned until further notice.

So who was working at Warrington Pizza Hut (Riverside Retail Park)? The photograph is now available on-line as to is the identity of sub-human excrement Paul Jon Williams or Jon Venables. The police must be made to learn the hard way that they are servants of the public. Should they insist on spending my cash keeping Venables from justice then there is every reason to "terminate with extreme prejudice". Not that I am calling for Venables/Williams to be killed, merely given a one way ticket to New Zealand perhaps and a warning not to return.

There has been much debate and indeed some controversy surrounding the latest spate of injunctions, both "super" not not-so-super. Are we to believe that it all stems from Mr Marr's inability to keep his trouser snake reined in? Or that Jackie Ashley of the Grauniad was so upset by Randy Andy fathering Alice Miles love child (they had a blunter word in my youth) that Judges now slap injunctions willy nilly? Cameron spoke about the role of the judiciary and that it may have been fundamentally anti-democratic. Post Stokes Croft/Bristol uprising is that relevant? As for anchovies, they are my favourite pizza topping.

Following the suspicious demise of Smiley Culture, West Midlands Police detained "an agitated black man" who was admitted to hospital with injuries. These could only have been sustained in custody. The outcome? In all probability the "Independent" Police Complaints Committee will exhonerate the police. Comme d'habitude.
Earlier on the Guardian I notice a growth in police trolls, these appear whenever contentious issues arise and tell us how hard done by the Ritz owning, Monagasque dwelling Barclay Brothers are. Surely it is the role of the police to catch criminals (real ones, not political dissidents) than to argue online with the left wing and non-aligned liberals?

07.00 police arrive at Mr Emmanuel's property. Fact. 08.30 Mr Emmanuel dies of a knife wound. Fact. Smiley wrote songs about death in police custody. He then died in police custody. The long track record of police mendacity has led to severe and grave doubts over the exact cause of death in this and other cases. I have been in contact with Jean Paul Costa, President of the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg to ask that when deletion of (illegally) held DNA samples occurs it must be totally transparent and verifiable. Who, now, believes the police?
On another blog "The Thinking Policeman" - now there is an oxymoron - I opined that Smiley could have been subjected to "robust policing". One hears of the "Independent" Police Complaints Commission. They will merely exculpate any constable involved.
Finally, where are Smiley's family to look for redress and justice? Not in the U.K that is certain. Another case for the ECHR?

My first post of March will deal with the forthcoming visit of the Queen to Ireland. It is one hundred years since a monarch from the former colonial power came but the West Briton mentality of many Irish folks survives. Quaintly, Her Majesty heads a family that will allow marriage to any religion except Catholics. I predict, if not a riot then at least a demonstration with many arrests. Looking at the world it is the closest neighbours that prove the most difficult to deal with - Armenia and Turkey, Korea and Japan, Latvia and Russia.
Finally, it is too near in time to the events of the "Northern campaign 1969-1994" for the Schleswig-Holstein-von Glucksburg-von Sonderburgs to be feted in the 26 counties.

The sentencing of Nicola Osborne today for a risible 18 months for making a false rape claim underlines a major problem facing the British judiciary. There is no mandatory policy or guidelines, from Magistrates courts to Crown courts. I suggested the "Arizona Law" which is that a woman making a false or malicious claim ought to face a minimum 10 year custodial sentence. We still face the situation whereby in Britain an accuser is anonymous but the accused are named. I contacted Charles Kennedy, Nick Clegg and David Cameron about this and have yet to receive a reply.
In Iran four students have been held without charge. Iman Sedighi, Ramtin Megdadi, Sirious Zarezadeh and Saeed Sakekian ought to be released immediately according to "Amnesty International", I concur fully.

Judge Howard Riddle and Assange.

It would be unwise to sell life insurance to Riddle who today has given in to pressure from America and Sweden to extradite Britain's foremost political prisoner, Julian Assange for a rape that never happened. Anna Ardin texted her pals an hour after saying how happy she was, curious indeed for a "rape victim". The other complainant is Sofia Wilen who is what would be termed a "bunny boiler". It seems that Suzanne Moore has already made up her mind. The ease with which one may make a false rape allegation is astounding in the U.K and the fact that Assange is named here - but his accusers are not - says volumes about British "justice". Time for a case before the ECHR at Strasbourg methinks.
Now to Israel and Maj-Gen Aviv Kohavi, who has probably the toughest job in the world, keeping an eye on Iran and it's nuclear ambitions. One wishes him well and hopes that the troubled Middle East will be less fractious in future.

Those nice people over at "Total Politics" have listed this blog as "Non aligned". I like that, before I set out to write it I pondered which direction (if any) it would take. The non aligned tag is quite useful, not being tied to a particular "ism" or bloc. There are elements of truth in both left and right wing philosophies.
Next comes nationality and I see they filed me under "England". Well, I was born there and lived in England half my life, about 25 years in all. Perhaps I ought to get a little chav flag and buy a white van to fly it from? Banal nationalism is often sneered at, national identity is constructed via an "imagined community" and "invented traditions". Finally, good news from Egypt about Mubarak's departure. Algeria next?

Ezekiel said "All souls belong to me" (i.e God loves all of his creation). From whence does the homophobic rhetoric derive in Christian fundamentalist teaching? Pauline epistles have a roll to play here, being undoubtedly guilty of stoking the fires of bigotry. Jesus said nothing about gays, good or bad. Old Testament quotes are wheeled forth but very selectively (after all, if one is wearing clothes of two fabrics, is a prisoner of war or is a female wearing trousers then one ought to be killed. Stoning to death in an Islamic state or use of the Lex Talonis have the same teleolgy.
Finally, is it the act itself that repels born again Christians? If the gay worshipper keeps celibate are they then "right with The Lord"?

Big Brother UK Series 12 and Egypt.

Channel 5 are supposedly buying the rights to "iconic" chavfest "Big Brother" from Endemol. The preparation that went into Channel 4's putting on the "highlight" of the summer took at least 6 months. Initial auditions in late January, early Febraury, call backs in March, vetting in April and May.
If Desmond were to buy it tomorrow he would need to have candidates already in place for House Mate status. C5 is accused of dumbing down yet after a lousy final year with "surprises" (i.e it was fixed) B.B was unable to staunch viewers deserting in their droves.

Judge Mary Fahy fecking revisited.

John Water's new book "Feckers - 50 people who fecked up Ireland" (Constable, £12.99) names our old adversary from Galway Fahy. (See my post of 8th May 2010). On Good Friday 2008 nine publicans were charged with selling alcohol on Good Friday. I may be seen to some that Fahy threw out the offences but her quixotic nature, haranguing and insulting of those in the dock and slavish attitude to her superiors has not gone unnoticed. My first blog of the year here is on the Mormons. It falls into two parts, theological and social. The DNA evidence is found lacking regarding Native Americans and any wandering Israelites. I read the Book of Mormon (in English and Spanish when I was in Madrid) and whilst I am sure it is a fine book I was not left with any lasting feeling that it was in any way an adjunct to the New Testament.
Now to Mormonism as it is lived. They are a family centred, clean living bunch whose children do not seem to engage in gang-banging or drug deals. I met The Osmonds parents many years ago in London, a nice couple. Whether Mormonism is the truth or not, if we were to lead positive lives such as theirs might not the world be in better shape?

Australia and the New Year.

I started this blog in January so it is coming up to it's first anniversary. It was initially linked to another site but always endevoured to be a hard political blog, of the left, and giving discomfit to those who oppress, repress, suppress and generally act the maggot. My real name is not Joe MacFarlane, that came about as I applied for an unpaid post on another site and took over from someone whose name was similar. I have identified the guilty, taken chances, sailed close to the wind, and hoped I caused some damage to the bad guys. By mid year I was fed up and closed the blog only to reopen it when someone showed interest. I may not get as many hits as some commentators but surely the blogosphere has room for one more decent soul and one less neo-Nazi bigot?
Finally, some days I feel spread very thinly. Not enough news, nothing to interest me, or I am just too busy trying to live in an ever expensive and hostile world. What of envy? Envy of some journalists not worth a bucket of warm spit but who are on great salaries. Is there paradise anywhere? For anglo-phones Australia may well be as good as it gets, not perfect, what with Dumagee getting beaten to death for no reason other than the colour of his skin but a relatively classless society, good weather and marsupials. 2011 may well see some surprising developments. Alas, this seems to be the title of a non existent programme. I received an e-mail this morning from one of the forums I briefly contributed to during the early summer. After being short listed for Series 11 one could smell the mythical house in Borehamwood, but, perhaps as well for me (I am fond of my anonymity, at least for now) the B.B team opted for the usual line up of brain dead wannabes, unable to string a coherent sentence together.
There were talks between sundry interested parties yet these fizzled out. Just as well I did not make to last year, the female contingent were mingers, what is worse, stupid ones.

To Dublin airport and the much vaunted Terminal 2 building. Still under construction, I headed to the Etihad (Aer Lingus) first class lounge where a Yvonne MacCauley did not know what to do. The lounge itself is no great shakes, a small drinks cabinet, a few comfortable chairs and a large plasma TV screen. Better was to be had at the "old" Aer Lingus lounge where Marie Doody did know what she was doing. I arrived in London, concluded my visit to my ex-fiancee in Camden then had an interview with the Israelis. My return to Ireland necessitated going overland. I had not been on the Holyhead crossing for more than five years. This time the goons of North Wales police were too busy chatting to hassle honest decent passengers so I boarded the Stena sailing to Dublin North Wall. To the Business Lounge where Sara and Luca made me feel welcome with a top class experience.

News that Julian Assange has not been granted bail (quelle surprise) by Judge Howard Riddle. The lack of assiduous targetting of the judiciary is a feature of modern life and one that ought to change. Thus fat they have seeming impunity to impose what in many cases are politically motivated "deterrent" sentences. A cursory glances shows a Howard C Riddle in the Home counties - so useful for Westminster magistrates Court.
Now to the cheating scum at Meteor, I mentioned elsewhere that my (other) SIM card was cut off with twenty Euros I could ill afford to lose still unused. I understand that mobile companies cannot allow just one top a year but with no notice I thought the action over harsh. Today I used my other number only to find the Catch 22 situation, top up and stay linked but in order to top up one needed Customer care (a misnomer) and all calls are barred. Meteor may look forward to a shit storm if I am not re-funded.

We live in an age of rights and entitlements. Everybody seems to have a claim on something but in many countries it varies on what that thing is. Nowhere more so than when dealing with the vexed issue of sperm and egg donations. It is of course far more invasive and personal to harvest ova than semen. Formerly the subject of ribald jokes sperm donation (in the U.K) is be subject to a myriad of rules. The initial process is arduous - of any ten men only three will have enough semen to be viable for the all important freezing. Of those another two will fail for things such as motility. It is no easy task to succeed in.
Many clinics try to match for the donor and the mother's husband having the same or similar height, build, colouring and blood group. Good news for O Rhesus Negative as it is recessive. The loss of anonymity led to many prospective parents going to Denmark where there are no such qualms. What effect this new Viking invasion wll have on England's gene pool waits to be seen. It is no easy step to reverse the anonymity rule. There is a natural curiosity about origins, currently only when a child is sixteen can they receive any information, then wait another two years for contact. Is this right?

So Sweden has issued an arrest warrant for the head of an organisation that blew the whistle on what went on in Afghanistan. These stories were none too pretty for the US and it's allies (delete allies, insert mercenary satraps). One thought that Sweden (unlike the U.K where it is legal to identify the accused but not the accuser in rape trials) had anonymity? It seems not in Mr Assange's case.
On an unrelated subject what is going on with "Meteor"? I put in twenty Euros for my mobile, did not use it for a while and now there appears to be no credit on it. Theft, n'est pas? Now I must do some research on Aliyeh.

The noble Lord gave his latest pronouncements on "Foundation X" leading one to suspect that he has either been give full rein of the House of Lords mini-bar or is attempting to write a sub 007 film script. James has said that he squandered millions of pounds of PIRA money. Given that much of it went off shore to the Isle of Man this seems doubtful.
As with "The Koala that ate Queensland" his dialogue and settings need some fine tweaking. "Lyudmilla opened her raincoat she was naked beneath. The Baron held his Beretta 9mm. "Darlink ze Taleban are arriving viz one million dollars". Just then the door burst in and Big Jim Slade (Pride of the Navy) entered the room." Cut.
What use are the House of Lords save for comic value if this is what is produced? At least the hereditary Lords can plead genetic deficiency due to inbreeding. Finally in the annals of the bizarre byzantine goings-on in Westminster it would be hard to beat Lord Russell, son of Bertrand. His maiden speech was eagerly anticipated. He rose and shouted "The police are controlled by the Vatican. They are blackmailed by bum boys".
No wonder the Russians abolished such a system.

Harold Shipman, Fred West, Rose West, Myra Hindley, Tracey Connolly, Steven Barker, Andrei Chikatilo, Ian Huntley. A litany of depravity? Arendt wrote of the banality of evil. How does the media whip up public anger with such events as Soham, the Moors murderers, the "Crossbow cannibal"? Look at the reaction that women involved in these stories get. How few females make it into the "pantheon" of hate. Today I thought about what it must be like to be Neilson's sibling or the cousin of any of the above named. Shame, rage, deed poll? Does anyone meet a Sutcliffe and ask "Are you related?" Is it a matter of time, that in a century collective memory will have faded from the red-tops baying mob?
10 Rillington Place, title of a movie. The late Judge Miriam Reynolds gave a summation about a topical case. Yet who sits in judgement upon the feckless, those who are the focus of "respectable society", uniformed "officers of the law", the uneducated, the tongue-tied? Courts as a microcosm of society, prejudice laid bare. Newspapers who decide not to run with facts but spice up a story with gossip. Finally, judges themselves are capable of murder, sex crimes and all the other veniality of mankind.

Papua Merdeka.

West Papua is not fashionable in terms of public image such as Tibet, yet profound human rights abuses equal in measure to those that were perpetrated in East Timor are being ignored (or held in contempt) by the west. Indonesia annexed the former Dutch colony and set about bringing it into the Javanese fold. Invented tradition, alien to the Papuan tribesmen alongside a policy of cultural genocide meant that there would be an inevitable collision.
During the cold war Djakarta was of paramount importance to Washington. Secessionist movements in Aceh and the Moluccas were harshly put down and no notice was taken of bad publicity (massacres) nor minor inconveniences such as human rights. For a nation that saw it's freedom in terms of expelling Japanese and Dutch occupations the Indonesians cared naught for suppressing any troublesome province whose world view did not accord with theirs.
Finally, will south east Asia see another state emerge from the cloud covered hills? Like an equatorial Hebrides writ large the West Papuans may find that public opinion abroad, which grew from a small kernel as in the case of Timor Leste, could ignite and propel them forward and free of their oppressors.

Queen Rania.

Compare and contrast the attitude to (and from) the royal families of Jordan and the U.K. The Hashemite kingdom might not be perfect but at least Rania Al Abdullah has engaged with her subjects, is approachable and amenable. Baghott said "we must not let sunlight in on magic" or some such yet today the British monarchy is ossified. Rania exemplifies elegance with a humane touch.
Do monarchies have a "sell by" date? In reference to England, "Windsor" even if added to Hanover only dates from 1715. Slightly less than 300 years (as with the Romanovs, and we know how that ended). Stuarts, 1601-1715, 214 years, combined with Tudor (1485) 340 years. Plantagenets about another three centuries.
Back to Queen Rania, notice her security detail (in a volatile region) is far less in number and intrusion than La Windsor. What does this say of the monarchy and it's role in the national life?

Judge Mary Fahy.

Continuing the Irish theme, with an examination of just how easy it is for the second rate to progress in a corrupt and nepotistic atmosphere. Fahy is now on the Galway Circuit Court dispensing "justice" (i.e disproportionate sentences and fines) to the good people of Connacht. Back in 1996 she was elsewhere convicting "politicals" of offences. Her attitude (arrogant, bombastic, vicious) and ignorance of basic tenets of legal jurisprudence is infamous.
But it is her part in the Rossport fiasco that is striking. Protesters are jailed or given huge fines. The police who assault those with the temerity to dare to oppose the planned destruction of the Mayo coastline are given full sanction. The government takes hefty back handers from Shell (remember their charming actions in Ogoniland?) Perhaps the fact that the Irish are white means that being shot dead is (not yet) on the cards.
Finally, has the time arrived for the legitimate targetting of the judiciary? Pieces of work such as Kramer and those involved in the Baby Peter Connelly case, the Heather Nicolson case and others may be deserving of some attention.

Meeting Zeinab.

To Heathrow and the long line at security, check in. Glancing behind I had a "Is that..?" moment, it looked and sounded like Zeinab Badawi. In front of me a family of Italians who could neither speak English nor understand it were blocking the way forward. By the time they had sorted themselves out Zeinab (I was now sure it was her) had gone in front with some tall media luvvy. I had my photograph taken by a nice girl (wearing a hijab) and was moved to the X ray machine.
We ended up standing beside each other. "You look like Zeinab Badawi" I said. She laughed "Yes, I get that a lot". Thus on to the first class lounge of Aer Lingus, sans Zeinab and quaffing a few whiskeys. Last night I was in Putney, starting at the "Star and Garter" with an old acquaintance from Bristol, we went on and had a bite to eat plus copious lagers at "The Duke's Head".
Finally I find myself besotted with the girl in the bikini in the "Sony" advertisement. Cannot see a future in such a relationship however.

Who has the most to gain from the fall out over M.P's expenses? The Daily Telegraph launched the story but it ceased to back the Conservatives as they were not Eurosceptic enough. The Barclay Brothers, owners of the Channel Island of Brecqhou near Guernsey turned to UKIP, who, remarkably were still not Eurosceptic enough.
We now reach the far right fringes of politics and the B.N.P. The Daily Telegraph (also owned by David and Frederick Barclay) cannot be seen to publicly endorse neo-Nazism but take a look at the in-home site "My Telegraph". From being the jewel in the crown of main stream media websites it now resembles a children's playground.
Of all political groups Griffin's is the only one to escape the wrath that hit the main parties. They seem well placed to take Barking in the next election. The Daily Telegraph is no stranger to supporting the wicky-whacky shores of politics, after all it backed Hitler in 1933.
The BNP are by far the most media-savvy of the smaller parties, they have a space on the blogosphere and whilst drawing much odium also give voice to a dispossessed white working class. They have never escaped the declasse image of skinheads and a wholly distasteful background of holocaust denial.
Finally, even with an attempt to distance themselves from Jew-baiting the B.N.P are struggling to finance their dreams of glory in Westminster. Could their salvation come in the form of two billionaire brothers who are also ultra-hard line Catholics?

The B.N.P look set to take Barking and Dagenham in the forthcoming general election. White working class disillusion focuses on the abandonment of them by the two main parties who vie for Middle England. As with extremes of both sides, far left and right the first question on the agenda is "When is the split?"
It now looks as if the B.N.P are perceived as soft (!) by certain elements who are disgusted at Griffin's wish to become mainstream. Eddie Morrison has been around for a long time. He is accused of being a tout (police informer) amongst other crimes. Amidst this the curious thing is the resurgence of the National Front. Major players in my youth during the 1970s they are now an (even) sadder adjunct to the B.N.P.
The "National Alliance" are yet another collection of misfits preaching "racial purity" (so no geneticists there, then). With links to far right groups in the United States especially, they were a former Morrison hobby horse. It is hard to keep tabs on the wilder fringes of Neo-Nazism but N.A are not alone. There is also the "Wolf's Hook White Brotherhood" (honestly, that is their title) who accuse all the other factions of ideological and racial impurities.
Finally, I am reminded of the quote "Marxism is the non Aryan granny of the B.N.P." It does seem particularly apt these days, especially in light of today's successful action by the U.A.F at Millbank in blocking a E.D.L march.

56%. False rape allegations and attitudes.

The most recent American study showed that malicious accusations were 41% concerning rape. A highly emotive issue (and rightly so) there is another report published stating that 56% of women believe that the victim was "asking for it". A dispassionate examination of the issues may help. Nobody "asks" to be raped. However the nightmare scenario of a stranger emerging from a dark alley is very rare.
Far more common is what is termed in the U.S "date rape". Large numbers of women are pressurized into sex. Where is the cross over line between consensual sex and that which is forced? Rape is difficult to prove or disprove as invariably it is one persons word against another. I advocated the "Arizona Law" for false claims, as in that American state a proven malicious accusation automatically accrues a ten year custodial sentence.
There should also be large financial restitution and compensation for any man who has been arrested and had charges dropped due to there being no evidence. There should be anonymity for the accused additionally.
Now to consent. Implied consent was the former rule. If a woman had invited a man to her bedroom or vice versa it was generally accepted that there would be what 19th century papers coyly termed "intimacy". One sees a move to say that if a woman is drunk (to what degree is not clear) that she is incapable of giving consent. This reduces women to the level of mentally disabled children who are unaware of their surroundings.
Finally the matter of contributory negligence. As said previously nobody "asks for it" yet I will leave you with an example. My West Indian pal enters a pub frequented by the BNP and EDL. They start using racist language and then attack him. He does not "ask" to be injured but the level of sympathy diminishes with a disregard for the consequences of one's actions. Compare this to the rape argument. If a woman is unsure or set against any intimacy it would be preferable not to lie in bed naked beside a man whilst engaging in foreplay.
